This mug is a translucent, wheel-thrown porcelain mug created by artist Antoinette Badenhorst. It is part of her functional dinnerware line, known for being both lightweight and durable. The mug is made from high-fired porcelain, which, when fired to vitrification, becomes a strong, glasslike material known for its translucency.

Antoinette refers to porcelain as the “Diva of clay,” crafts each piece with a hand-painted floral or leaf pattern. It has vibrant colors like washes of yellow, green, orange, and purple with green accent lines. This artisan porcelain mug is inspired by the artist’s observations of nature and life’s energy. The mug is a unique masterpiece blending wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques. The handle, with its curved, organic shape, ensures a comfortable grip. Beyond its artistic attraction, this mug is designed for everyday use, microwave-safe and dishwasher-friendly.

Antoinette Badenhorst is an internationally acclaimed ceramic artist renowned for her work with translucent porcelain and is the founder of the online art school TeachinArt.
