The IAC received outstanding applications 2019 and would like to thank the candidates and the sponsors for their support of the development of this network of enthusiastic professionals in ceramics.
Without your generous contributions this could not have happened.
It has been a pleasure to be involved in the judgement of your work:  the quality of the applied works have been very high. Your art works represent a rich diversity, great variation in content, expression, size, form, colour, structures and textures, and in the use of the clay material and ceramic techniques as language.  Innovative, experimental and critical.
Here is much to see, learn of and reflect on.
”The goal of IAC is to stimulate friendship and communication between professionals in the field of ceramics in all countries. IAC develops and encourages all forms of international cooperation to promote ceramics and to encourage and maintain the highest level of quality production in all ceramic cultures.”
We are pleased to welcome our new members. You are our future.
It is vital for the IAC to recruit colleagues, still younger colleagues,  in our multicultural context.
You are acknowledged by your peers for the excellence of your work.
You are each one of you personalities involved at the highest level in the field of international ceramics.
You are interested in the culture of the Other, and in exchange.
You have come to a global organization and network where ego and competition is developing towards contribution and cooperation, in the frame of a democtratic environment.
In the IAC you will get to know colleagues all over the world, colleagues who support you, fully accept you.
We share a lot in common, all over the world, in our daily lives through our ceramic work and interest: we talk to each other, face to face, and tell each other true stories from lived lives.
This can only be achieved with your participation.
This first edition of the New Members Exhibition will be held in two locations, in first place in Guozhong Ceramic Art Museum in Beijing, China, then during the IAC General Assembly and Congress 2020 in Rovaniemi, Finland.
This IAC traveling exhibition is organized and supported by Guozhong Ceramic Art Museum. I will congratulate the organizer of this exhibition. Thank you!
Torbjørn Kvasbø
President of the International Academy of Ceramics.

"Verge"
We all experience times in our lives where a slight push moves us further to the next level, to a different mindset, to a new experience or period. In the larger context of circles, cycles and seasons, everything always moves within boundaries or is it about to spin from the periphery of the old, to the new.
Below is the Text to catalogue New Members Exhibition, Beijing/ Rovaniemi 2020.
