Antoinette create mugs that are distinctly one-of-a-kind. These mugs are carved free hand. She draws designs with a pencil onto the raw clay and carve it into the clay walls.
These mugs are glazed with glazes that she developed over many years. This steel grey glaze is made from a basic glaze which is colored with mason stain. The glaze emphasize and enhance the designs. There are always small irregularities in her work, evidence of the artisan hands. |
